You will get in-depth instruction in Core from its creators. Every day, you will learn a new skill and put it into practice.
Create a Portfolio
During the bootcamp you will have the opportunity to create games and worlds. We will help you turn them into your own portfolio.
The bootcamp culminates by forming teams to create a polished, complete multiplayer game. You will receive guidance, support, and any resources you need to succeed.

How to Apply
The Core Game Dev Bootcamp is completely free, but there are limited seats. To apply for the program, submit your application below by Sunday, August 16 at 11:59 PDT.
You are encouraged to apply if you are somebody who loves games and is interested in game making as a career. You would be a good fit if you are passionate, eager to learn, and driven. No experience or technical background necessary — in the bootcamp itself, you will get that hands-on training and pick up those professional skills! Interest in or experience in livestreaming is a big plus.
- Be at least 13 years of age at the start of the program. (Note: the curriculum is geared toward high school graduates and above, but younger are welcome to apply.)
- Fluent in English, both written and oral.
- You must be able to commit 2 hours from 9 AM to 11 AM Pacific, Monday through Friday starting on August 31, 2020 until September 25, 2020.
- Have access to a Windows PC that meets Core’s minimum requirements.
Those accepted into Core Game Dev Bootcamp will receive a stipend to level up their computer and livestreaming equipment.

Who is running this bootcamp?
Manticore Games is empowering a new generation of game creators. We are the developers and operators of Core, a multiverse where games and worlds are brought to life by creators just like you. Members of our team launched Spore, The Sims, Dead Space, and dozens of other titles.
Who can apply?
You must be 13 years or older. (Note: the curriculum is geared toward high school graduates and above, but younger are welcome to apply.) The bootcamp is open to participants anywhere in the world, but you must be able to commit to being online 9am-11am Pacific, Monday through Friday, regardless of your timezone.
What is the time commitment?
Participants commit to 10 hours per week, which will be spent in workshops, 1:1s, and hands-on training. There is also nightly homework where you apply what you learned that day.
Does this cost anything?
Nope! Participating in the bootcamp is free – but space in the program is very limited, and you must be willing to commit to the specified hours.
Do I need to have experience in game development?
Nope! No prior experience is required. Some of our best past students have come from unexpected backgrounds. However, we have one important hint: you should get familiar with Core in advance, because the application process requires you to produce something with it.
